With all due respect, the temple place is very spiritual but the city and temple infrastructure is pathetic. I visited many well known temples this year like Shirdi, Alandi, Dehu and Tuljapur recently. All these cities are pathetic and very dirty. Not able to understand what MTDC dept is doing. The temple trust hold millions of rupees of charity. Where is that money going? Why can these trust adopt their own city to improve the city infrastructure? People should think on these before giving Charity. Suggestions to pilgrims- just visit the temple and come home. Don’t put your hard earn money in charity ‘Dan Peti’.

The door of the temple which is facing the south is called the ‘Parmar’ door. The great devotee Jagdev Parmar offered his head to the Devi seven times. This incident is carved on the door in the form of verses. In the main hall, the dome is facing the south. An attractive and tranquil idol of Tuljabhavani made from gandaki stone seated on a silver throne is found within the sanctum. The idol is proportionate, with eight hands and appears as Mahishasuramardini. This idol can be moved. To the east of the main hall is the bedroom with a silver bed. Three times a year Devi takes rest on a bed. This practice is not prevalent in any other place. On the walls of the main dome there are small carvings. In the compound there are Kallol tirth, Gomukh tirth, Sidhivinayak temple, Shri BhavaniShankar temple, a pit for sacrificial fire, other Devi and Devatas, a temple of Matangi . Other pilgrim places like Gharrshil, Math of Bharti Buva, Papnash Tirth, Dhakate Tuljapur, Tirthkund, Ramvardayini temple are also located close by.

We have visited recently this Tuljabhavani temple. The Solapur expressway is really in a good condition and we can reach in less than 4 hours to Solapur from Pune. The Solapur to Tuljapur road is also fantastic and a newly built with Toll booth on it. But the drive is really great and effortless. The Tuljabhavani temple gives now a days passes for darshan. One is Free and other is 100 rs per person i.e paid one. The process for both types of passes is same. Foto is taken and a bar coded pass is given to you. Once you enter the main temple the pass given to you us scanned and then only the further entry is permitted. If you have less time and have to go further then this 100 rs pass is time saving and convenient option. The temple premises is huge and the Goddess idol is really very beautiful. It is the one of kind Godess idol which is movable and is removed for procession as per the tradition. Normally people combine Tuljapur, Akkalkot and Ganagapur together as all these three holy places fall in the nearby region.

One of the 3.5 Shakti peeth. The temple is built in black stone dating back back a few centuries. The intricate designs, corridors, doors, pillars, windows are feast to history lover/ conservation architect. - Free entry passes available - Paid entry ( Rs. 100/-) can get you a quicker and closer look at the deity - Drinking water and washroom facilities available inside the temple premises and also during the queue - Huge waiting hall for darshan as this is one of the popular deity. Proper seats also available for those who would need them during the long queues. - On-line Pooja/ Abhishek also available. - The temple is extremely crowded during the Navratri festival - The local market outside the temple can get you some daily routine items at reasonable rates ( bargaining is a must) - In the evening the birds 🐦 flock the sky in thousands is a view to behold.

A good religious place to visit.... Goddess Tuljabhavani is popular for all Maharashtrian people but also for all other Hindus. It is considered to be one of 2 n half shakti pithas, Emperor Shivaji maharaj also had a huge faith in mata Tuljabhavani. A good historic place to visit located in the district of Osmanabad, one of district of Maharashtra located in the Marathwada region.
